Christina Applegate (Married….With Children and Dead to Me) narrates her memoir with clear purpose and emotional rawness. She was raised by a caring but sometimes overwhelmed single mother, and Applegate's voice crackles with emotion as she relays her turbulent childhood, anchored by moments of solace she found while acting. She mines more than 40 years of her own journal entries, sometimes quoting direct passages. Applegate’s battles with body image and anorexia, as well as her present-day challenges due to multiple sclerosis, are painful to hear about. She’s candid as she details an abusive romantic relationship, and listeners will cheer for her as she settles into a happy marriage and raises her daughter, Sadie.

by Dick Van Dyke ; read by Tom Bergeron & Dick Van Dyke [Intro.] ‧ RELEASE DATE: Nov. 18, 2025
While a brief introduction to this audiobook is voiced by Dick Van Dyke himself, the balance is assigned to his friend Tom Bergeron. He does a remarkable, impeccable, and simply wonderful job, narrating with a rhythm and tonality similar to Van Dyke's. One might believe one is listening to the 100-year-old actor himself. In addition to talking about his life, Van Dyke also quite candidly describes living with the health and mobility issues that have touched him in his most recent years. Throughout the presentation, anecdotes and vignettes thoughtfully portray the pivotal influences on the man and his sensibilities. The novel approach of presenting the ever optimistic Van Dyke's "rules for living" works effectively.

by Ron Darling ; read by Malcolm Hillgartner ‧ RELEASE DATE: April 2, 2019
More books have been written about baseball than any other sport, and audiobooks such as this allow the genre to flourish. Former pitcher Ron Darling, now a broadcaster, had a distinguished career, primarily with the New York Mets. Darling has met just about everyone in the sport for nearly four decades and demonstrates his knowledge and connections with the anecdotes in this entertaining memoir. Narrator Malcolm Hillgartner's relaxed delivery sounds as though he is in the broadcast booth with Darling. Like most audio sports memoirs, this book succeeds because of the narrator's engaging style. Hillgartner recognizes that even the duller moments in baseball are bolstered by the legacies of so many who have played the game, and were fortunate to have crossed paths with the author.
