Glimpses of the Moon is a charming love story told with great expression. Harper's voice is free and flexible and easily strengthens the escapades of the central characters, Nick and Susie. Together they concoct a romantic misadventure, which ultimately teaches them lessons of life and true love. Caught between their desire to be part of privileged European society and the reality of their lesser means, their conflict is full of youthful tribulations we all relate to. With clever inflection Harper lets us bear witness to their struggles between the gaiety of love and the vexation of wanting what they can't have. This is definitely a winner.

This is not a story about guns, but about blue pearls. Gerald Browne takes us to the Pacific Ocean and the world of pearl divers and natural gems and mixes in mystery, intrigue and suspense. Barry Bostwick portrays the characters in one voice, varying his intonation slightly for the Asian personalities. His reading style is very smooth, evidence of preparation and interest in the story. 18mm Blues is abridged well, collecting the important elements of the story. Unobtrusive music indicates the end of each side. Disappear into the mystery of the Far East and one of its most beautiful commodities.
