En route to Lake of Sorrows in Ireland, American pathologist Nora Gavin is frightened by eccentric locals, treacherous peat bogs, and ancient legends that remain quite alive. Narrator Jennifer McMahon's lyrical voice is perfect for this creepy story of tradition, in which the present and the past are nearly interchangeable. McMahon gets Nora's American accent spot-on in addition to beautifully presenting Irish poetry. The action escalates when archaeologists and police are called in to investigate after a modern corpse is found, along with an ancient body in the bog. Fans will enjoy Hart's sequel to HAUNTED GROUND.

This is not a story about guns, but about blue pearls. Gerald Browne takes us to the Pacific Ocean and the world of pearl divers and natural gems and mixes in mystery, intrigue and suspense. Barry Bostwick portrays the characters in one voice, varying his intonation slightly for the Asian personalities. His reading style is very smooth, evidence of preparation and interest in the story. 18mm Blues is abridged well, collecting the important elements of the story. Unobtrusive music indicates the end of each side. Disappear into the mystery of the Far East and one of its most beautiful commodities.
