by Farah Heron ; Read by Soneela Nankani ‧ RELEASE DATE: Jan. 22, 2023
Soneela Nankani's performance adds endearing charm to a chaotic teen romance. Roles are reversed in this fun audiobook: Math nerd Samaya is a gamer girl who needs to regain respect after a very public breakup with the "it" boy at her school. Daniel is a hockey jock who loves baking but desperately needs a math tutor. Together, the two whip up a sweet plan to make everyone jealous AND pass calculus class. Accurate pronunciations give authenticity to the audiobook's South Asian cultural references, and the inclusion of gender-neutral pronouns sounds natural. Nankani's narration is playful and expressive as she transports listeners to the center of the teen drama.

by David Levithan ; illustrated by Nick Eliopulos ; Read by David Levithan , Vikas Adam , Ron Butler , Elle Cohen , Lisa Cordileone , Michael Crouch , Nick Eliopulos , Michael Goldstrom , Graham Halstead , Aaron Landon , Hugo Bresson , Rebecca Lowman , Alex McKenna & Daniel Henning ‧ RELEASE DATE: Jan. 22, 2020
This crowd-pleasing short story collection from the prolific Levithan focuses on love in all its variety, including representation from several points on the LGBTQIA spectrum and topics ranging from quiz bowl to Taylor Swift fan fiction. Longtime fans will relish hearing from familiar characters, such as BOY MEET'S BOY's Infinite Darlene, in a story titled "The Quarterback and the Cheerleader," narrated by Elle Cohen, who nails the playful banter and soft hope of a first date. Shorter but no less sweet is Rebecca Lowman's intimate, emotive performance of a love story in verse. It takes seven narrators to deliver the angst and excitement of the members of a queer youth choir. Most memorable, however, may be the autobiographical works narrated by Levithan himself, especially the concluding track about the profound effects of sharing one's words with others.
