Grandin does not shy away from difficult topics, such as slavery and racism, while adding interesting details about the personalities who helped shape the hemisphere, like Bartolomé de las Casas and Simón Bolívar. Graham pivots when needed, for example, narrating with emotion when recounting cruel atrocities or with humor when discussing exasperated country leaders. While Graham's narration of Spanish words is occasionally off the mark, overall his vocal talents keep the material engaging.
