Hotshot trial attorney Will Alexander has few clients left when four motorcycle gang members accused of a grisly crime request him for their defense. If the reader does not object to the graphic crime descriptions and steamy sexual encounters, David Colacci presents a masterful interpretation of this compelling story. The vocal characterization of Alexander brilliantly portrays the duality of the hard-living antihero and an unusually caring father. Cadence and tone are used with great success to depict Alexander's inner voice, a particularly hard "character" to represent and to differentiate from the rest of the dialogue. A fine selection for audio, the listener is drawn in as judge and jury and led on by Alexander's own compulsion to succeed.

This is not a story about guns, but about blue pearls. Gerald Browne takes us to the Pacific Ocean and the world of pearl divers and natural gems and mixes in mystery, intrigue and suspense. Barry Bostwick portrays the characters in one voice, varying his intonation slightly for the Asian personalities. His reading style is very smooth, evidence of preparation and interest in the story. 18mm Blues is abridged well, collecting the important elements of the story. Unobtrusive music indicates the end of each side. Disappear into the mystery of the Far East and one of its most beautiful commodities.
