Lisa Scottoline has written her most entertaining novel yet. Featuring newly appointed Federal Court Judge Cate Fante, DIRTY BLONDE is a terrific page-turner, and Barbara Rosenblat's reading complements the story wonderfully. Rosenblat is especially effective conveying Cate's emotions and insecurities, which combine to place her in the middle of a murder and other events that arise from a ruling in one her cases. Equally important, Rosenblat captures the personalities and emotions of the book's many supporting characters, supplying each with a distinct voice and style. Scottoline's fans will enjoy the story and look forward to the next chapter in Judge Fante's tumultuous life.

This is not a story about guns, but about blue pearls. Gerald Browne takes us to the Pacific Ocean and the world of pearl divers and natural gems and mixes in mystery, intrigue and suspense. Barry Bostwick portrays the characters in one voice, varying his intonation slightly for the Asian personalities. His reading style is very smooth, evidence of preparation and interest in the story. 18mm Blues is abridged well, collecting the important elements of the story. Unobtrusive music indicates the end of each side. Disappear into the mystery of the Far East and one of its most beautiful commodities.
