The Moore clan is together again, embroiled in love, friendship, and secrets buried within their family relationships. The romances of their various members play a big part in the family's dynamics. Love is hot and heavy between the younger couples, more subdued for the others. Richard Allen's deep, melodic voice delivers Major's story in soft, slow tones. There is heavy emphasis on the theme of love, including sizzling sex. Other emotions are conveyed in a straightforward manner. Allen keeps pace with the quips, the snipes, and the characters' reactions to one another. Major has a great grasp on the give-and-take of family.

This is not a story about guns, but about blue pearls. Gerald Browne takes us to the Pacific Ocean and the world of pearl divers and natural gems and mixes in mystery, intrigue and suspense. Barry Bostwick portrays the characters in one voice, varying his intonation slightly for the Asian personalities. His reading style is very smooth, evidence of preparation and interest in the story. 18mm Blues is abridged well, collecting the important elements of the story. Unobtrusive music indicates the end of each side. Disappear into the mystery of the Far East and one of its most beautiful commodities.
