The sinister title fulfills its promise with a compelling financial thriller. The fast-track world of Wall Street, bonds and New York real estate sweeps up the listener as fraud on a gigantic scale is contemplated by financiers with dirty secrets. Colin Stinton captures the characters perfectly. Not only do the bluebloods receive good vocal definition, but also the CIA and Islamic terrorists in the cast. Stinton's voice is mellow, sinister, jovial or menacing as needed. He captures the raw ambition of the characters in his voices. His pace is finely tuned to the story, as well as the speech of the characters, even the women. A great selection for a fast-moving listen.

This is not a story about guns, but about blue pearls. Gerald Browne takes us to the Pacific Ocean and the world of pearl divers and natural gems and mixes in mystery, intrigue and suspense. Barry Bostwick portrays the characters in one voice, varying his intonation slightly for the Asian personalities. His reading style is very smooth, evidence of preparation and interest in the story. 18mm Blues is abridged well, collecting the important elements of the story. Unobtrusive music indicates the end of each side. Disappear into the mystery of the Far East and one of its most beautiful commodities.
