Sanchez's new novel drips with the atmosphere of Key West. "Bizango" an environmental serial killer with a voodoo name and a black rubber skeleton suit, is murdering South Florida's destroyers of nature. Will "Truth Dog" Noah, the disbarred environmental lawyer and pirate radio host, and his motley group of friends and relations be able to stop the monster? Should they? Given the setting, Sanchez is entitled to his punchy Hemingway-esque dialogue. Michael Kramer's tough-guy delivery suits the testosterone-leavened story. He manages an extraordinary array of accents and attitudes without distracting the listener from the plot, and his narration is always easy to follow.

This is not a story about guns, but about blue pearls. Gerald Browne takes us to the Pacific Ocean and the world of pearl divers and natural gems and mixes in mystery, intrigue and suspense. Barry Bostwick portrays the characters in one voice, varying his intonation slightly for the Asian personalities. His reading style is very smooth, evidence of preparation and interest in the story. 18mm Blues is abridged well, collecting the important elements of the story. Unobtrusive music indicates the end of each side. Disappear into the mystery of the Far East and one of its most beautiful commodities.
