by Traci Hall ; Read by Beverley A. Crick ‧ RELEASE DATE: Jan. 22, 2022
Beverley Crick's lilting Scottish accent takes listeners straight to the seaside town of Nairn, where Paislee runs a knitting shop, cares for her son and grandfather, hangs with some nasty women, and solves murders on the side. At a fundraiser for the local food bank, someone poisons the shortbread, with dire results. Crick's performance, especially her nuanced use of inflection and pacing, wrings every bit of spite from the adult mean girls who plague Paislee's every move. This is the third in the series, and a lot is going on, some of which seems incomprehensible, particularly Paislee's relationships with her grandfather and the handsome police detective. Start at the beginning for the best experience.

by Orlando Murrin ; Read by Sebastian Humphreys ‧ RELEASE DATE: Dec. 16, 2025
Chef Paul Delamare is back for a second helping of mystery in this action-packed adventure. Narrator Sebastian Humphreys brings sparkle to his portrayal of the perpetually down-on-his-luck chef whose house has just been flooded when he receives an invitation from an old friend. After joining Parisian socialite Xéra on her honeymoon cruise across the Atlantic in a superyacht, Paul stumbles upon the scene of a tragic death and realizes he may be trapped at sea with a murderer. Humphreys hits just the right notes as the chef, emphasizing his knack for putting clues together and his hilarious outrage when his investigation goes sideways. Humphreys deftly juggles the accents and affectations of the passengers and yacht crew, strongly delineating each character.
