Julia Gibson makes Pert a touching, lovable girl struggling with reconciling expectations and reality. Other narrators, including George Guidall, Johnny Heller, and Sally Darling, lend their voices as park residents. However, too many characters with too little speaking time crowd the production, distracting rather than enriching the story.
