Carlo J. Emanuele is an award-winning author and Milwaukee-based entrepreneur whose crime fiction explores family, legacy, ambition, and the consequences of the choices we make.

His debut novel, The Sins We Inherit, introduced readers to Costantino “Cost” Caduto Jr. and a contemporary Milwaukee underworld shaped by family loyalty, organized crime, and generational sins. The novel earned multiple honors, including the American Writing Awards Winner for Fiction – Mystery/Suspense, the Literary Titan Gold Award, and finalist recognition from the American Writing Awards and BestThrillers Book Awards.

In August 2026, Emanuele released the second novel in the series, The Cost We Pay, which expands Cost’s world from Milwaukee into Chicago while pushing the story deeper into the consequences of power, vengeance, fatherhood, and control. The novel has received strong early critical praise, with reviewers highlighting its emotional depth, morally complex characters, and evolution beyond traditional organized-crime fiction.

Raised on Milwaukee’s working-class South Side, Emanuele draws inspiration from his Italian-American heritage, family, community, and the city itself. His storytelling is also shaped by a career in business and entrepreneurship, his years as a collegiate basketball player, and personal experiences with loss, reinvention, fatherhood, and resilience.

Emanuele lives in the Milwaukee area and is the father of two daughters. He is currently developing the third installment of The Sins We Inherit series while pursuing opportunities to bring the story to the screen.
