THE MASTERPIECE BIBLES; THE REMBRANDT BIBLES

These are as beautiful Bibles as we- in this office- have ever seen. The Masterpiece Bibles contain 95 biblical paintings, a great many of them familiar to those who know the work of Michelangelo, Titian, Raphael, Rembrandt, but many others from lesser known masters of the Flemish, the Dutch, the Italian schools. The reproductions are superb, and- for the art student- on the back of each painting is the actual text which the painting illustrates, the data about the artist, the collection in which the original is found, and any other pertinent or critical material. At the front of each Bible there are exquisitely illuminated Family Dedication pages, printed in full color. And at the back, preceding the Concordance, index, etc. are several pages of maps plus a geographical index, prepared especially for these Bibles. The inclusion of a map of modern Israel is a thoughtful adjunct..... The Rembrandt Bibles contain 116 Rembrandt, paintings, forty four in full color, 72 etchings and drawings in gravure. ..Both Bibles are issued in Protestant (King James version) and Catholic (Confraternity-Douay) versions. The type face is perfect -- clear and large enough for old and young. The page size- 8fl x 11fl. And each Bible is sturdily and handsomely bound, and stamped in gold, while the edges are also gilded. Boxed in gift boxes..... Here is the de luxe gift of a lifetime.
