The story of the Uganda martyrs -- 22 Catholics and 12 Protestants who were and who than deny their Christianity between 1885 and 1887 in one counterpart to the experiences of Christians in the infancy of the Church. Even the unsatisfactory version provided here, the zeal, devotion, courage 19th century heroes of Christ come through. Unfortunately, of a theme written for a classroom assignment, bogs The sincerity of the author is manifest throughout, but it does little to make the heroic figures live. Had this basic material been supplied to an the result would have been so much better. These fledgling Christians who gave their lives for their beliefs stand as an inspiration and a key source for deeper understanding of the peoples of the emerging nations of our own times. Would that the story of these proto-martyrs of Uganda was told more effectively. Perhaps it will be seen.
