by A. Hamilton Gibbs ‧ RELEASE DATE: Feb. 19, 1953
The well known author whose latest book was Way of Life returns to his audience, this time with a reminiscence of days and years spent in France and a paen to her towns and coasts. Addressing the sites of his sojourns, beginning with his school days at Saint Malo, going on to the war years, to Paris, Nice, the Antibes and other places in North and South, he recalls his experiences in part, in part the history and essence of the place. While the poetic form suits the fragmentary thoughts of nostalgic remembrance and love of place it does not gain from the rather self-conscious word patterns. Essentially for those who have loved France long and well and who will share Mr. Gibb's deep love for her.
