ADVENTURES ON CLOUD NINE

All about sharks, moray eels, octopi, starfish, stingrays; the history of Hope Town, the Bahamas, of local piracy, (especially Bluebeard); the techniques of skin diving, sailing, surfing; of building a surfboard and a boat; of treating diabetes and countering claustrophobia -- all in conversation. Dick's ""daily goofs"" provide the only distraction, and his fear that godfather Uncle Wally won't clear him at the end of the voyage for a surfing trip to Hawaii with older brother Paul. Comes a big blow and Uncle Wally, who's the diabetic, has to take it easy; Paul, Patty (Wally's daughter) and Dick carry through, especially Dick who goes below to secure the forward hatch despite his claustrophobia. Into the refuse goes the Little Black Book with his mistakes and it's Hawaii, here I come -- well informed but winded.
