WHEAT WON'T WAIT

Cyrus McCormick's story told with an eye for personalities and personal struggle as well as the growth of the nation's economy. There are Cyrus' Virginia childhood, his days at the forge with his father, his first thoughts about easier harvesting that led to invention, the patent, hard times convincing the farmers, business in Chicago, the rivalry with the Narsh Harvester, and the final conglomerate contribution to American farming. A nice treatment.
