by Agnes Rothery ‧ RELEASE DATE: June 28, 1948
An informed and informing and informal picture of a country so recently to the American army, and of current importance hearsay fame. Agnes Rothery is our favorite guide to countries of the northland, and this is a worthwhile addition to her series. The facts of national, family and daily life, the sights, speech, literature, statistics, education, history, and so on, are given in pleasant, leisurely, descriptive manner. The character of the individual towns is thoroughly explored, their qualities assessed. Personal exploration has revealed natural beauties, points of interest, in a country singularly un-tourist minded, and this should fill a gap for the air traveler today, the travelbent stay-at-home.
