Sub-titled ""How to reach the top in the business world"" -- this promises to be a blueprint for the business woman who has the chance of a life-time to seize opportunities never before opened. In a sense, the timing seems wrong, for the opportunities are there for the taking. This, however, should help women face the situation intelligently, weigh the possibilities of the various fields, and make the most of it. With promised S & S backing, this book should sell:- (1) it is a good book; (2) it is a real self help book; (3) in addition to offering sound advice, it is good reading; (4) it covers a broad range, from novice to experienced business woman. The author knows her stuff, has had wide experience in hiring, firing and training, and is Director of the Research Bureau of the Encyclopedia Britannica. For the novice, she outlines 19 basic jobs, shows how they may be used as stepping stones, offers the beginner a five year plan and 29 ""must"" on office decorum. The second part is keyed to the experienced business woman. In it she gives suggestions for coping with competition from men, recognizing insurmountable prejudices, play-by-play strategy for getting ahead. Her keen and witty analysis of male executives will be readily recognized (will the men relish it!). Down-to-earth rules pointing to success.
