by Alan Lakein ‧ RELEASE DATE: May 10, 1973
It's almost impossible not to say nasty things about Lakein's system which entails the manufacture of a written Lifetime Goals Statement, daily To Do Lists based on A-B-C priorities, and decision-making aids like The 80/20 Rule and The Magic If -- that is, admit to yourself, ""I just cannot plan"" and then ask ""But if I could plan, what would the plan be?"" To say very nasty things about such folderol. However, for the habitual slobs among us -- those creatures of messy desk, deadline procrastination, and general dishabille -- Lakein, a professional time management consultant to tycoons and other world-beaters, might have something. Anything would help. The advice includes always doing your A-1 tasks and never your CZ's, ways to enrich your in-transit time (learn a foreign language while driving to work -- Mr. Lakein is never idle), how to avoid wasting time (chuck the TV and ""then stalk your A-1 !""), and what to do with all that dream time -- ""Pose a question to your subconscious just before you fall asleep. Select one that requires hours of thought -- after all, your subconscious will have four to eight hours to work on it."" Is this book worth your time? ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz
