Old-fashioned derring-do around a boys' school in Scotland--which begins when terminally ill Barry Raeburn (teacher, ex-rugby star) is rescued from a suicide attempt by ""the Duke,"" a tycoon-mastermind who wants Barry to undertake a noble, dangerous mission. The mission? To foil the planned kidnap of a royal prince from the Markland School--and to help catch the bad guys. So Barry plunges in, poses as a teacher at the school, avoids assorted assassination attempts, falls for teacher Joan, and ends up foiling two kidnaps. And, finally, a wounded Barry may be in for some illness-defeating surgery. . . . Serviceable folderol, with nice Scottish backgrounds, which may please those with lots of nostalgia for British suspense circa 1920.
