This invitation to suppose is without doubt for adults a singularly funny book. That its humor is derived from perversity may, perhaps, make it seem a little less laughable to some cautious parents. As long as the child merely supposes that he is the torment of small officials, the insultor of female relatives, the spurner of adoring ladies, all will be well. But for the child who tends to translate fantasy into action, this book is not recommended except with severe reservations. In fact, it might generally be more suitable for, those who have reached an age of discretion.
