ALFRED HITCHCOCK'S DARING DETECTIVES

Eleven variously sophisticated stories of Variously familiar sleuths whose detective work is largely cerebral--few fearsome run-ins. Notable additions to the usual roster (Perry Mason, Hercule Poirot, schoolmarm Hildegarde Withers, The Saint) are a rare MacKinlay Kantor and an adventure starring 'Solar Pons' and his companion, 'Dr. Parker'; but note also Cornell Woolrich's polarizing in ""Through a Dead Man's Eye,"" that has to do with ""Some kid that lives on the other side of the gas works."" A lot like the Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine, even if it's Hitchcock who dunnit.
