GULLIVER JOINS THE ARMY

This will surely be as popular as the author's The Smiths and Rusty. Now that the papers are full of articles about ""Dogs for Defense"" it should be devoured by the children. Gulliver is a large shepherd who joins the expansive Majolica family on their farm in Connecticut. There are five children and many animals, who all/live happily until, after strenuous dieting, Tony joins the Army. With the boy gone the family sends Gulliver off to join the Army, too, though their paths only cross for one moment in England you feel that each in his way is doing his best for Uncle Sam. The story has many up-to-the-moment incidents, including tire thieving, First Aid practice and English refugee children.
