WE ARE BEST FRIENDS

Who will you fight with? Nobody fights like best friends,"" says Robert when Peter announces that he is moving away. But Peter moves anyway, and Robert is lonely--even after a new boy, Will, arrives in class. Peter writes of liking his new school better than he did at first, and of Alex: ""You are my best friend but Alex is nice."" Then Robert runs into Will, looking for frogs, and soon the two are watching frogs together in Robert's garden. ""I haven't had so much fun since I moved here,"" says Will--and Robert writes of Will in his next, friendly letter to Peter. This is all pictured in an inviting childlike style and warm bright colors. But with the little boys expressing their true-to-form feelings so patly, one misses the distinct and personal charm of other Aliki undertakings.
