Wartime England is a nation of traitors. The Germans have penetrated M.I. 6 both at home and in the field. Major Smith, leading six agents, and a woman disguised as a man, parachute down in Bavaria to rescue an American general who has fallen into the hands of the Gestapo and is now held in Schloss Adler, an inaccessible castle in a valley. The general is operations coordinator for the proJected second front and must be rescued before the Germans can question him. But is he a general or a bit player who has been paid $25,000 to impersonate one? This is just one of many calculated misconceptions and deceptions in a predictably, justifiably popular entertainment.
