SANCHO OF THE LONG, LONG HORNS

A well-written western of Chapo, a teen age cowboy who made a pet of a longhorn. Texas ranch and the excitement of a boy going ""up the trail"" to Dodge City with the cattle. Rival cattle owners, swollen rivers, nesters, and a boy's affection for a big, beautiful, strong steer, emerge as more than just another western. Chapo's adventures, his efforts to save Sancho (of the long horns) from the usual fate of steers, the near ruin of the Big Dipper herd, disasters, and Sancho's own unique solution are told in excellent prose.
