by Amy Wentworth Stone ‧ RELEASE DATE: Sept. 15, 1937
Put into this age group because it has enough suggestion of romance to appeal to girls wanting something more than a good girl story. A better than average tale, of a girl who evolved a scheme to earn money, with a life-long comrade as partner, to help him finance his course at agricultural school. Of the ins and outs of her career as Jack of all trades, and particularly dealer in kittens -- but the hurdles she takes are in her own imagination, primarily. Not a wholly satisfying story on any count, but readable and holds the interest.
