EAT WELL AND STAY WELL

With a foreword by Dr. Paul Dudley White, this book on nutrition relates diet to coronary heart disease, recommends a lowered fat level and a judicious selection of the type used. If ""the fat of the land is ours"", there is extensive evidence to show that this is not necessarily benign; and the authors find the tension theory of heart disease unimpressive, and that exercise can be more helpful than not. Distinguishing between high and low cholestorol values, they also provide a basic breakdown of nutrition, a calorically calculated approach to reducing, and then a generous number of menus and- individual recipes -- which the more fastidious hostess should not be ashamed to serve.... A good book for general information and application.
