WHERE CAN IT BE?

A preschooler (possibly a girl) searches for ""it"" everywhere--in cupboards, under tables, in the refrigerator, etc., each time revealing the orderly and colorful contents at the flip of a shortened page. At last, the doorbell rings and there it is: a yellow blanket, left by mistake at a friend's house. Sharing this should be soul-satisfying to any very small child. Jonas lovingly depicts the most important objects around a middle-class house: toys, clothes, food; the page turn from patchwork quilt to cat hidden asleep beneath the covers is especially appealing. A charming, beautifully designed book, marred only by the placement of copyright and CIP data on what would otherwise have been an elegant title page.
