Much less striking than the author/illustrator's recent and distinctive Nine In A Line (1966) and I Spy (1965), the slim story about a monkey in a chase for a wind-blown parasol in her favorite shade of orange seems only a very loose accompaniment for the full page illustrations. The pictures, which include bands of Japanese calligraphy, are an interesting combination of pointillism and oriental stylization, but unfortunately the bursts of orange color against the brown shaded background give them a garish quality.
