by Anna Gertrude Hall ‧ RELEASE DATE: Jan. 1, 1939
Excellent biography of the Norwegian Arctic hero, whose Farthest North won loyal followers the world around, who was the first white man to cross the Greenland ice pack, who made a science of oceanography. A great man, a great scientist, a great diplomat and statesman, a great world figure. As High Commissioner of Refugees, he established certain standards of handling the problem that are followed today. A fine book, with a wide general market.
