NANSEN

Excellent biography of the Norwegian Arctic hero, whose Farthest North won loyal followers of all ages the world around; and who was the first white man to cross the Greenland ice pack, and to make a science of oceanography. A great man, a great scientist, a great diplomat and statesman, a great world figure. As High Commissioner of Refugees, he established certain standards of handling the problem followed today. A fine book, with a wide general market.
