This is a collection of original verse and a group of translations from the Italians, Her translations of Petrarch's sonnets are considered exceptionally fine. Her own verse is metaphysical, contemplative in theme, indirect, often oblique. Interesting contrasts of the classical and modern throughout. Not to be looked upon as casual verse -- the reader has demands made upon him and some may find her a bit difficult.
