EVA VISITS NORIKO-SAN

An exchange visit between two very small girls is delightfully pictured with large black and white photographs. Eva, who looks as Swedish as she is, takes a plane trip to visit Noriko San. Noriko's daily routine, patiently waiting to have her endless sashes and kimonas adjusted by her mother, breakfast, a walk in the miniature garden, is shown as she waits for Eva's arrival. The meeting of two children, one so dark, the other so fair, provides wonderful photographic subject matter. Pictures of the clothing swap, with Eva wearing the kimona and Noriko-San in Eva's national costume, are delectable. The approach is very elementary- suitable for children through second grade, or as remedial reading for higher levels.
