by Anne Carroll Moore ‧ RELEASE DATE: Nov. 17, 1939
The record of twenty years with children's books, and autobiographical enough to be valuable as a record of the person who has done more than any other one person for the enrichment of the field of children's books in public libraries. One can recognize the signposts of her judgment, her unique critical approach, almost more through the omissions (if one knows the output of twenty years) than by the inclusions, so it should not be the only book on children's books, but might well be a required volume on such a shelf for consultation. Library and school use.
