A Lift-and-Look Flap Book"": pushing his own stroller as his teddy rides, a diapered new walker goes to the park with his parents. The text on each page is a familiar phrase from early speech: ""Go bump"" as teddy falls from the stroller; ""Share nicely"" in the sandbox; ""Yum-yum"" as the family eats a picnic lunch. Each is also a moment of transition that holds excitement for the baby in the story and the one who opens the flaps to see the scenes transformed: the ""Big push"" on the swing; ""Go fast"" down the slide; the pecking pigeons ""All gone"" into the air. Scott's illustrations are simple, clear, and imbued with warmth and humor. The pages and flaps are sturdy enough to withstand the multiple ""readings"" they are sure to receive. An excellent first book for babies.
