STRANGERS IN NEW YORK

Anne Pilgrim, whose earlier books have romanced through Paris, Holland, and Provence, now brings the three motherless Saxon children from London to New York. Only Anthea, 18, is pleased. She may see Clyde again. But she's less pleased when she sees him with another girl. The Saxons get to know New York, the streets, shops, museums, Lever and Seagram buildings; they walk in the parks and take a trip to Staten Island; they find an apartment and Anthea gets a job; and they look up the old friends of their mother who had been an American. At last all adjust... A rather storyless story, but there are lots of moods, dreamy, restless, poignant, lonely and finally radiant.
