by Anne Worboys ‧ RELEASE DATE: Sept. 1, 1974
For all those reviewers who have increasingly found the Gothic novel to be a pain in the fundament not only in terms of reading them but judging them -- a marked change for the better in that depreciated category. . . . Virginia comes to the island of Mykonos where her scatty twin sister has been involved in a boutique -- involved, unwittingly, in more than just souvenirs -- namely the selling of forbidden antiquities -- and now, disappeared. With the help of the casually everpresent Nat Ross, all is taken care of. Atmospheric but not overly adorned -- justifiably sure to please.
