A DAY IN THE BLEACHERS

A rundown of the 1954 World Series opener between the Giants and the Indians is a pleasant souvenir- for Giant fans- and an expression of an old enthusiasm which for Hano began at the age of four when he spent the summer in the blsachets at the Polo Grounds. And along with the score card on this particular game, inning by inning an out by out, there's a running reminiscence on other players and plays which is for the most part a genial (a little churlish when it comes to the supporting cast of other teams) and knowing appreciation. Still and all, it's not much more than a little pop fly- which isn't going to carry too far out of the infield.
