The verses are clever, after the author/illustrator's own manner with occasional Ogden Nash. For instance in ""Warning"" -- ""Do not anger a frog/He may be somebody's brother. Do not anger a frog/He may be some prince or other."" Or, ""The wind was blowing from the north/And I was riding on my horth."" That continues to 8 lines of lisping. They have an infectious gaiety that Mr. Spilka transfers with equal ease and expertise to the illustrations, as well. This is the rare combination of pictures and text that hits the balance and will satisfy both listening children and the adults who read to them. An excellent follow up to Mr. Spilka's success of last season -- Paint All Kinds of Pictures.
