When teen-age Arnold and Russ set out on a camping trip in the Pacific Northwest, they cannot imagine that they will be asked, in the name of humanity, to declare themselves dead. But despite the anguish they realize it will cause their parents, they agree to cooperate with the distinguished scientist, Edward Vandenburg, whose experiment with gravity, depends, he says, on the total disappearance of the two boys. The very compelling dilemma of the two heroes and the skeleton of plausible scientific theory are imaginatively combined here in a science fiction story of considerable merit.
