ON EAGLES' WINGS

This is a fictionalized account of the experiences of the Israelites in Egypt. The resentment of Pharaoh at the prosperity and fertility of the Israelites and his determination to crush them which resulted in their forced labor as brick-layers and the slaying of their first born; the story of Moses, the punishment of Pharaoh by the plagues, his release of their slaves at the insistence of Moses, his change of mind and pursuit of the Israelites and the climactic Red Sea incident by which the children of Israel passed over on dry land while Pharaoh's pursuing army was destroyed -- all of this is vivid enough as related in the Old Testament, but the drama of it all is heightened in this very well written bit of historical fiction.
