On the same theme as Karen Horney's Self-Analysis, this book advocates the therapeutic efficacy of auto-analysis. But the focus in Auren Uris' book is not on the deeply pathological. Rather, he focuses on minor difficulties and disturbances, which, he advocates, with diligent self investigation and scrupulous dialogues with self, can be largely alleviated. Essentially a self-help book and lacking the authority and depth of Karen Horney's work, it would be difficult to take exception to anything herein proposed. Utterly commonsensical, lucid in style, with the relative potency of an aspirin--a dose to relieve only the more superficial though frequently annoying ills.
