A dull story of Navajo life today takes its young hero through orthodox adventures in an orthodox manner. Chaki, the product of two cultures- Navajo and white- lives on a reservation with his family and dreams of going to the big Inter-Tribal Ceremonial in Gallup. To earn money to get there, Chaki sells pinyon nuts and captures wild horses. There is a real endurance test when he finds two geologist's sons about his age lost in the mountains and aids in their rescue. The boys' grateful father promises to help Chaki with his career as an airman in the outside world.
