LUCY OR THE DELAWARE DIALOGUES

A cocktail and canape counterpoint of interchanges which take place between Lucy and Patty Delaware and their husbands, Gene and George, brothers, as temperamental differences provoke intermittent irritations in their parallel lives of households, husbands, children, and a benevolently despotic mother-in-law. For Lucy, whose charm is casual and blithe, chafes the more determined Patty who broods over George's past and possible feminine interests, while- enlightened by Spockian theory- she broodhens over her youngsters. And it is Lucy who starts a luncheon flirtation with patty's ex-husband Quent, goes on to enjoy an ""emotional sabbatical"" in an anonymous apartment, confides her misspent moments to Patty who betrays her in an outburst of bad-tempered exasperation... A tattletale of a not too innocent indiscretion which sustains a piquant course against a well-kept Westchester background, this has its moments of entertaining sophistication, though it lacks the natural charm of The Dewy, Dewy Eyes
