THE GREAT MOGHULS

Two lavishly illustrated historical studies, handily sized (both 7(apple)"" x 10""). The Cowles is more readable and contains 32 full-color plates and 150 black-and-white photographs recording some Romanovs and environs. The Bamber Gascoigne text, concerned with the Mogul dynasty which ruled India from 1526 to 1707, is packed and somewhat stiff, but a helpful bibliography is included for the studious, and there are 56 pages in color and 105 black-and-white photographs of relevant artifacts, by Christina Gascoigne.
