If the main title here were simply Making Love Work, which is what the author calls the seminars she offers out of her Personal Growth Center in L.A., it would be more on the mark. As it is, the present title is misleading: this is not a how-to for those hoping to become sexual Supermen-or-women, nor is it a guidebook for bedroom triathalons. Instead, it is an upbeat, positive, intelligent approach to becoming a more loving, feeling human being. Sex comes into it--in the normal course of things--but the emphasis is on love, per se, and its power to heal troubled relationships and fulfill lives. Accessing this love power consistently takes work, however, and it's this work that the author instructs us in: she offers practical solutions for resolving conflict, such as her simple but effective ""Love Letter Technique""; she tells what to do when love is in trouble, including guidelines for ""letting go""; and she provides her formula for ""living in love."" A back-to-basics, yet up-to-date self-help manual that only a recluse wouldn't profit by.
