This continues in the same vein of juvenile humor the author tapped for If Everybody Did. Adults can usually get their messages about behavior across with laughter by asking, ""How would you like it if I (sucked my thumb, chewed my hair, ate with my mouth open, etc.)."" This book uses this sort of gentle personalized ridicule to emphasize family courtesy and household peace. It exaggerates, in the well done ink-drawings on yellow pages, what life would be like if the baby didn't cry, if the toddler cooked the meals, if the children were allowed to watch TV all the time. The book stops before the fun of it wears off. Unpracticed child-styled print is used, a line to a page, and although this is always an unfortunate graphic gambit, the pointed pleasure offered is useful.
